Within a week the mem- bers of the Club had subscribed nearly 6,000 dollars and prompt- ly remitted £300 home to the Club headquarters in London, for the purchase of the first mobile canteen which will be named after Hong Kong.

Functions Planned
It is not however, the policy of Rotary to take full responsibility for any particular social service, It can initiate and give generous support, but it also seeks the cooperation of the general public in such works.
It is proposed therefore to hold several functions which-will be open to those who sympathise with the objects of the joint scheme. So. far a cabaret dinner dance has been arranged for January 18th at the Peninsula Hotel. Then the South China Athletic Association has agreed to give some of the proceeds of a special match to be played on December 22nd to the fund.
