4-2 Ten Minutes From End

Lead Brilliant Display By Leung Ping-kwan

By "Referee"

AT SOOKUNPOO yesterday a combined Second and Third Division Royal Army Service Corps team were fortunate in beating Lane, Crawford's football team by the odd goal in nine, for, 10 minutes from time, Service Corps were being led by 4 goals to 2.

Lane, Crawfords possessed two | Leung Ping-hung and Chan Chu-chun; very fast wingers in Leung Ping-3. H. Edgar, Leung Ping-cun and S. pui and Leung Ping-kwan

and

with their centring and the man- ner in which they covered ground. Loung Ping-kwan was

toc fast for the opposing haives and It was through him that most of the danger to the soldiers' goal arose.

Brains Of Attack Leung Ping-pui on the right wing was not so prominent but played well. Ho Yau-kee in the centre-forward berth was the

brains of the attack and opened the game up with neat swinging passes to the wingers and was always in position to receive the pass. His inside men, Wan Chuk- sun and Chu Wing-kin, though not so prominent, were also good and knew what to do with the ball when in possession.

Chan Chu-chun at left back was the outstanding defender for Lane, Crawfords. In the first half he was the mainstay of the de- fence and his clean kicking and quick tackling kept the Service Corps' attack at bay. His partner Leung Ping-hung came more into the picture in the closing stages of the game when Service Corps applied greater pressure.

Carr, the Club player, was seen at left-half and by his steady play and good clearances assumed much of the work of the backs.

· Leung Ping-sun, in the pivotal position, showed that he has played the game often before and kept a close watch on Glen and Weir, the most dangerous of the Corps' forwards. Edgar, at right half, was seen to advantage in the -closing stages of the game,

Glen Best For R.A.S.C.

Though Service Corps were composed mostly of Second Divi- sion players, few played in their regular positions.

Glen was the best forward, while Weir showed good ball con- trol though inclined to overdo his dribbling. Clarke was the better of the two wingers while Young did not seem to exert himself un- duly...

Lane, Crawfords took the lead in the very first minute of the game through Ho Yau-kee but Service Corps equalised shortly after through Glen. Sum Yau-ming, Crawfords' goal-keeper was not certain in his handling and was

· badly at fault with his clearances and it came as no surprise when Service Corps took the lead short- ly after through Clarke,

Civilians Forge Ahead

Before the interval Leung Ping- kwan equalised for Lane, Craw- ford, who then went ahead through Ho Yau-kee,

After the interval play was. mostly in favour of the firm and Ho Yau-kee placed his side fur- ther ahead.

Service Corps played better in the closing stages and scored "through :Glen (2) and Clarke..'
