BEHIND THE THREE-HIT PITCHING OF FRANKIE “BASHFUL” GONZALES THE SAINTS GAVE THE CYCLONES A 13-2 SHELLACKING, IN WHICH NO STRIKE-OUTS WERE REGISTER- ED BY EITHER SIDE.
Gonzales went the route for the Collegians, conceding two Annie Oakleys and yielding only three hits in the first three innings.
Bakar's single and a Collegian wild sheave gave the Cyclones their first marker, in the third. Their other tally was chalked up in the fourth when first-sacker A. R. Markar, dumped one to sacri- flce K. M. Rumjahn. In the fifth, sixth and seventh, the Cyclones fizzled down to a mild
summer breeze, when they were retired in one, two, three order, by no run no hit, no error play.
In the absence of Pinky Pineda, Sherry Bux took over mound duties, walked and fanned none, but was combed for 12 safeties, of which Powlawski batted a clean 1.000 in his three trips, with a triple and a single, and the only four-master of the day. "Ozo" Ozorio Dave Leonard, Henry "Showboat" Ali and George Souza were also good for doubles,
Outhit But Win
Although the mighty Hong Kong Baseballers were outhit by the Canadian Chinese squad, they rang up a 20-10 triumph over the Maple Leafs. Johnson toed the rubber for the victors for four frames, and only fanned one Canuck, but he conceded two passes, while relief hurler "Screw- ball" Jones handed out one walk but whiffed none.mp

IN THE SOFTBALL League curtain-raiser at Chatham Road on Sunday, the Wahoos registered a 29-6 triumph over the Little Flowers, who ap- peared lost in the absence of their Coach Johnnie Fonseca.
All the Wahoo reserves were put into the fray and among them, rookie "Cocomalt" Yolle was the most outstanding; besides a brilliant catch she sin- gled safely in both her trips to the plate.

By Best Ball Varying the target input-- ting practice is one way of al- leviating the tenseness and anxiety which comes from concentrating on stroking the ball to a cup size target for long periods. For example aiming at an objective, the sins of a good sized wash bowl in circumference will al- low the player to direct his attention to the fundamentals of stroking. Concentrating on the correct stance, the proper. Swing and accurate impact, the player can stroke the ball. with a reasonable assurance that it will end up in the super size cup. This reduces the golfer's anxiety and allows relaxed stroking.
After a reasonable amount of practice at such a target. the player can switch to a tee stuck in the green. Here the answer is largely in the pre- cision. of: touch in stroking ac- curacy in both line and dis- tance. The carry over of re- laxed stroking from the pre- vious assignment however. leaves the player free to patt the ball satisfactorily. Many players have found the com- bination helpful.
