TRAINER'S NASTY SPILL AT VALLEY
(By "RAPIER") A nasty accident oc- curred at the Valley this morning, resulting in To Kar Po, a Chinese trainer in the service of Hong Kong Jockey Club, being sent to the French Hos- pital in an unconscious state.
The trainer was taking out a 1941 Australian Subscription Grif- fin, No, K31, belonging to Messrs. Tester & Abraham for its morn- ing exercise, and on reaching the football stands the pony suddenly threw its rider on to the rails, with the result that he struck his feck against the stanchion of the rails with such force that he was, rendered unconscious.
Help soon arrived, and he was placed in Mr. S. A. Sleap's car and removed to hospital.
In my notes recently I stressed the necessity of Jockey Club pro- viding an Ambulance near the football stands.
