Chinese aircraft flew over Shamchun and Namtau on Wed- nesday. Japanese A.A. batteries opened fire but none of the ma- chines were hit. They remained over the border area for about half an hour and then disappear- ed.
TWO EXEMPTED
Two of the United States Navy Reservists in Hong Kong who had been recalled for ac.ive ser- vico have now been cxempted on Frounds of ill-health, the "China" Mall" learned this afternoon.
They are E. R. "Red" Sam- mens, manager of Gingle's Cafe, Wanchai, and William Gunn, Jr.
