RISKED LIFE FOR THEFT

MISS OLGA SANTOS; OF NO. 578, NATHAN ROAD, THIRD FLOOR, WAS COMPLAINANT BEFORE MR. Q. A. A. MAC- FADYEN AT KOWLOON THIS MORNING., WHEN KOEUNG, 34, WAS SENTENCED TO. SIX MONTHS' HARD LABOUR FOR STEALING HER HANDBAG.

Det.-Sgt. Fraser stated that accused risked his life by walk- ing along the edge of the roof top to Miss Santos' house. He stole the bag from the drawer of a dressing table.

After stealing the bag, accused started to run along the roof. He jumped down and over the wall, but was chased and ar- rested by Mr. Edward Kay.

The Sergeant mentioned that Mr. Kay caught two snatchers several days ago. Mr. Kay was commended by the Magistrate.

MADAME LUPESCU RUMOURS

NO CONFIRMATION IS YET TO BE OBTAINED IN MADRID OF RUMOURS THAT MADAME LUPESCU. MISTRESS KING CAROL OF RUMANIA, IS OF EX- BEING EXTRADITED TO RU- MANIA.

It is obvious, however, that the watch. kept on ex King Carol and. Madame Lupescu by the Spanish police is now much stricter.

They are unable to leave the hotel at Seville where they are staying-Reuter.

IGNORED WARNING

Mr. B. E. Sugars was summon- ed before Mr. H: G. Sheldon, K.C., this morning, for leaving his car unattended in Garden Road, near Albert Road, and for disobeying traffic directions,

Constable D316 told the Court that at about 4.30 p.m., on Octo- ber 3. he saw the car parked on a path between Garden Road and Lower Albert Road.. He told de- fendant not to park there, but at 5 p.m. the car was still there. It was driven away at about 7.40 p.m.

Defendant was fined $10.

Traffic Sub-Inspector. F. J. Clarke prosecuted.
