THE Army cricket teams were seen in action for the first time this season and did rather well to win two matches and draw the other. The 1st XI Cricket played the Indian Re-
creation Club at Soo- kunpoo and won by 157 runs. The I.R.C. had a weak team out and only had nine men for most of the game, but just the same I
think the Army would have won. L/Cpl. Logan made a brilliant 58 runs hitting 10 fours, Cpl. Shaw made 55 not out, hitting one six and six fours, 2/Lt. T. A. Pearce scored a fine 40, and Sgt. Denyer 32 not out.
The second XI were lucky to win by 14 runs against the IR.C. second team. Major Swyer of the Medical Corps made the high- est score with 27 runs, and 2/Lt. Ansarir made 12. The tail end of the Army team did not wag, as the saying goes.
