LEONARD AND HUSSAIN YESTERDAY'S BULWARKS IN DEFENCE

(By "Referee")

A RE-ORGANISED St. Joseph's team caused one of the greatest surprises in First Division foot- ball circles when, before a poor crowd, they defeated Royal Scots, conquerors of South China, yesterday by two clear goals, scored by Santos in the first half.

St. Joseph's fully deserved their win as they 12 played good and clever football, the inter-passing and positional play of their forwards, who have not played together this season before, being marked features of their play.

The Saints were the faster team both in attack and in defence and once in possession made the best younger players

still lack experience and obviously have much room for improvement.
