Silent On Events
(SPECIAL TO "CHINA MATE")
No official comment is forthcoming in the Netherlands East Indies on developments in Indo- China, says a Batavia cable to-day.
It is announced, however, that the Netherlands East Indies government has decided that interned German women will be allowed to leave Java Con- centration camps on condition that they immediate- ly depart from the Indies.
Many of the German women, to be-
anuse they believed the European CHINA'S
war would end quickly.
It is officially announced that VIEW OF
members of the German consular staff will leave Batavia shortly. This arrangement was, made after Swiss government through diplo matic channels successfully nego- tinted with the Nazis for the re- lease of Dutch consular officials from Germany.
