THE · DIFFERENCE: between genuine and forged $10 notes of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China were indicated at the Kowloon Magistracy to-day as follows.

Firstly, the forged note's paper is too thick. Secondly, there is a bluish colour over the centre¦

Lastly, the numbers on forged notes are not clear nor correctly placed in proportion.

These differences were outlinedj by an employee of the. Bànk, Ho Wing-slu, to Mr. E. Himsworth this morning, in giving evidence against Ho Wai-chan, 24, a. mar- ried woman, who is charged with uttering three forged $10 notes at No. 1020, Canton Road,

Pang Yoh-yu, 38, was charged before Mr. G. T. Merrick, unanager of the Confederation Life Association of Canada, at the Bank of East Asia Building.

Detective Sergeant J. R. Sykes' said defendant went into the office. of Miss Li Chiu-man in China Building, trying to sell some ar- ticles, Afterwards, Miss Li fcund her handbag was missing. Défendant was arrested in O'Brien Road, Wanchai, with the handbag in his possession. At the Police Station, he admitted that he stole a wrist watch from the Bank of East Asia Building, on September 9.

Sentence of three months* hard labour was imposed.

CRASHED 'PLANE BEING DISMANTLED

The Nippon Airways Company's 10-passenger 'plane which crashed at Fanling two weeks ago, is now being dismantled by the Far East Flying School.

Students of the school have been sent out to Fanling to assist in dismantling and packing. the parts into crates to be sent to Formosa.

The Japanese mechanic is still in the Majima Hospital and his condition_is said to be improving. The pilot and radio operator will leave,shortly for. Formosa,,
