Nine cases. of Cholera were reported to the Health Au- thorities yesterday, eight oc- curring in Kowloon and one in the New Territories. There were also 11 cases of dysen- tery, seven of, typhoid, two of meningitis and 56 of tu- berculosis.

During the week ended on Saturday midnight, 48 cases of Cholera (14 deaths) were registered. The majority (38 cases) occurred in Kowloon, and seven on the Island,

There were also 205 cases of tuberculosis. (132 deaths), 50 of dysentery. (27 deaths), 15 cases of typhoid (five deaths), five cases of diptheria (one. imported), three cases of meningitis (two deaths), and one case of measles.

Intensive police precautions are being taken to-day in the foreign, areas in Shanghai, it is believed to guard against. reprisals for yesterday's shoot- ing in the Settlement. Liu Han-ha, naturalised Japanese of Formosan origin, who was the viêtim of yesterday's slay ing, was known to be pro- Wang Ching-wel. The police are reported to have received information that anti-Chung- king elements might attempt to strike back to-day. Reuter.
