Virta Warrens, pretty young Portland business woman, turned her official entry blank over Bobby Rowe, sponsor of the event, indicating that she will compete with some 25 of the coast's well- known race pilots for one of the purses ever biggest first spot offered in the north-west. Kenealy gave her an "A" rating, but further tests are in the offing before a definite make of car is assigned her for the event.

When midgets were intro- duced to Portland fans some.flve years ago she was one of the first to further their development and she was the registered owner of car No. 28, which carried Jimmy Miller to midget championship in 1937.
"The entrance of Mrs. Warrens into the third annual stock car classic will add a new note to automobile racing in the north- west," Rowe commented, "This is to be a strictly stock, car race, over a smooth dustless track, and inasmuch as thousands of the fain sex drive under similar conditions every day we thought they should .have representation.”.
