LONDON, TO-DAY.

MORE LARGE SCALE NIGHT AND DAY BOMBING RAIDS BY THE R.A.F. ON THE CONTINENT ARE ANNOUNCED IN AN AIR MINISTRY COMMUNI- QUE WHICH STATES THAT DURING WEDNES- DAY R.A.F. BOMBERS CARRIED OUT DAY- LIGHT ATTACKS ON ENEMY OIL PLANTS, LINES OF COMMUNICATION AND STORAGE DEPOTS. Concentrations of barges near Rotterdam and

Schoolhoolen were bombed.

The aerodromes of Evere, in Belgium, and Ypen- burg, in Holland, were also attacked, and troop carrying and other aircraft set on fire. Others were damaged.

All our aircraft returned safely. During the night, in spite of un- favourable weather conditions, aero- dromes at Sachet, in Germany, De- in kooy, in Holland, and Melbille, France, were attacked. One of our aircraft is missing.

CAIRO WAR STATEMENT

Cairo, To-day.

A British war communique issued yesterday says:

"In the Western Desert, the enemy advanced yesterday against Sollum, but subsequently withdrew.

"On the Kenya front, supported by artillery and aircraft, the enemy

German High Command com- muniques clalm that 75 British air- craft have been destroyed between June 23 and July 4. Actually, a total of 30 of our aircraft have been lost by enemy action during this period. On the other hand, the enemy ad-made three unsuccessful assaults on mits the loss of only 12 aircraft, whereas the R.A.F. in fact destroyed 40.-Reuter.
