PASSIVE RESISTANCE IN HOLLAND

London, To-day.

That passive resistance in the Netherlands has been a source of great worry to the Germans is shown by the German announcement that General Winkelmann, Ne- therlands Commander - in - Chief, has been taken to Ger- many as a prisoner of war. -

The official reason is that General Winkelmann and his subordinates have not observed the rules laid down for the demobilization of the army and navy and the work of demobilisa tion has thus been "disturbed.”

The function of Netherlanda Commander-in-Chief is therefore abandoned, states the German an- Netherlands nouncement, and the people are warned there must be no further Interference with former
