Hospital Damaged In Midlands Town

Few Casualties Reported

London, To-day.

A BOY WAS KILLED, an old man died of shock and eight people were injured in Saturday night's German raids on England. Raiders crossed the south and east coasts and dropped bombs at various points without being able to deliver any heavy attacks.

A hospital was damaged in an attack on a Midland town, and a 10-year old boy was killed, while an old man died of shock. Several were injured, although none of these were inmates in the in- firmary.

FRENCH EMBASSY AGAIN HIT

Chungking, To-day. The French Embassy was again slightly damaged in the latest Japanese air raid, three bombs falling within ten yards of the Embassy com- pound.

A heavy stone was hurled through the roof of the building by the force of the explosions and landed in Arst floor bedroom.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN MACAO

Macao, To-day. An assassination occurred In the streets of Macao yesterday morning when a Chinese, Chen Tai-kong, was shot by ar un- known person. A lady companion of the - murdered man Was wounded and admitted to hospi- tal.

German Communique

London, To-day. German communique claimed yesterday that the German raid on England was on military objectives only.

ACCUSATION

AGAINST BRITAIN

Tokyo, To-day.

An accusation that Britain revealed Japanese strategy to Chungking, thereby in- fringing the understanding reached with Japan, is con- tained in a statement issued. by the Japanese forces in South China quoted in a Canton despatch to the Domei agency.

The statement adds Japan feels no longer under an obligation to inform Britain in advance of her milltary operations on the British-Chinese border.

"Notwithstanding the understand- Ing of November, 1938, the British authorities betrayed the Japanese strategic plans of operations near Pao-An.

"This was shown in Chinese docu- ments seized by the Japanese forces during operations near Pao-An.
