Authoritative reports regarding
the movement to-day of Chinese refugees across the border under the assurances of safe passage given by the Japanese military authorities indicated that the re- turn of the refugees is proceed- ing smoothly.
No figures are yet available but it is expected that some thousands will avail themselves of the op- portunity and it is an interesting fact that 219 from refugee camps in the urban areas went up by train from Kowloon this morning with the intention of re-entering Chinese territory.
