WIMMING team which has been most in the news this season has been Lai Tsun Swimming Union, an affiliate of Chinese Y.M.C.A., who have won every relay in which they have entered thus far.
The fact that this team will be in action at the European Y.M.C.A. gala this evening is sufficient to ensure a really excellent evening's entertainment.

The superb foot action of a lightweight boxer allows perfect balance to be main- tained at this point; the feet firm- ly gripping the ground though his entire left side from the ankle to the shoulder has made a maximum turn to the right. Even allowing for his size this gives the Texan one of the longest swinging arcs in the game, an arc he makes the most of by ⚫gradual acceleration on the down- swing, saving the wrist action un- til the vital hitting region is reached.

Unfortunately, Victoria Recreation Club, whom I understood would also be taking part in the relay, are unable to
to raise a team owing pressure of work among bank employees, engaged in the usual half-year busy period, and the fact that several of their bet- ter swimmers are indisposed.
The gala this evening will therefore take the form of a contest between European Y.M.C.A., and two affiliates Lai Tsun of Chinese Y.M.C.A., the
and the Ching Swimming Union, Wing Union.

O-DAY'S lawn bowls programme does not look very ex- citing although there are one or two good matches in each division. Not by any means in this category, but the first on the list, is that between Club de Recreio and Hong Kong Football Club at King's Park.
Although I have indicated a win for Craigengower at Kowloon Dock, I would be only mildly surprised to see an upset, as the Hung Hom line-up looks quite useful,
I cannot imagine that the latter will have been made in both sides; Chit- Lai Tsun will have out most of their cracks, including the popularly-term-break the ice at the expense of such tenden and Lockhart, threes in their

Poon Wing-kai and Lau Yiu-ting, both backstroke men, and Fong Chung- U, for the breast stroke are also stars in their respective spheres, who should be interesting to watch.
It is not likely that Lai Tsun will be extended in either of the relays.

Kowloon Cricket Club will be en- tertaining the Indians and, although the home team have met with only one success so far, I think they may just pull it off to-day.
It is not easy to forecast the result but in view of the Austin Road men's victory at King's Park last Saturday, the I will give them half-heartedly
my vote.

I have not been fortunate with the my forecasts where Kowloon Tong are concerned and I expect they hope I am wrong this time when I tip Recreio to win.
