BORDEAUX, TO-DAY. THE BRITISH PREMIER, MR. WINSTON CHURCHILL, PAID A FLYING VISIT TO BORDEAUX YESTERDAY AT THE TIME OF THE FRENCH CABINET CRISIS.

Liu Yung-kwel, Superin- tendent of the Shanghai Municipal Police, was shot dead by a

gunman at 8 o'clock this 1 morning.

Mr. Liu took over the post of the late Superintendent Loh Lien-kwei, who was assassinated several months ago..
