EGYPTIAN POLICY

Cairo, To-day. Egypt's present policy regarding Italy is purely defensive but it is pointed out here that, fully respect- ing the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty, Egypt places herself at the passive disposat of Britain to the extent of co-opera- tion in matters of security and the pro viding of air, naval and military bases. These must naturally be considered military objectives and to be Hable to Italian attacks, but if Italy at- tacks other Egyptian territory, bombs fall on purely Egyptian aero- dromes, ports and towns, or on civil- lans, Egypt will be forced to declare war.
