SEQUEL TO MOTOR CYCLE SMASH

FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH HE, A FRIEND AND A CHINESE PEDESTRIAN WERE INVOLVED, AT THE JUNCTION OF PRINCE EDWARD AND WATERLOO ROADS ON MAY 8, MR. L. GIB- SON, OF NO, 22, CARNARVON ROAD, WAS SUMMONED BEFORE MR. Q. A. A; MACFADYEN THIS MORNING FOR DRIVING IN A MANNER DANGEROUS TO THE PUBLIC, AND FOR FAILING TO NOTIFY THE POLICE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF A CHANGE OF ADDRESS. MR, GIBSON PLEADED NOT GUILTY TO DANGEROUS DRIVING.

7 p.m. on May 6, Mr. Gibson, on a motor cycle, was driving along Prince' Edward Road towards Waterloo Road, parallel on the off-side with a car go- ing in the same direction. SERIOUS MOTOR SMASH

A chauffeur and two Chinese pas- sengers are in a serious condition at .the Kowloon Hospital as the result of | a motor accident near Customs. Pass yesterday.

Private car No. 1292, was travelling down Customs Pass Road near the Cemetery, and a lorry 5752 in the op- posite direction. The car collided with the lorry and was badly damaged. The occupants were immediately taken to hospital.

MINE DRIFTS INTO BATHING BEACH

Considerable excitement was caused among bathers at 141⁄2-mile beach yes- terday afternoon when a mine was seen drifting into the bay.

The mine eventually settled itself in a corner of the bay in about two feet of water, and many of the bathers "evacuated."

The naval authorities rendered the mine harmless at about 8 p.m. and re- moved it.
