HONOURS TO NEW SECURITY NAVY HEROES OF DUNKIRK

The first list of honours to the naval heroes of Dunkirk | is published in the London Gazete.
Awards for services in organising the withdrawal of the Allled armies include the Knight Commander of the Bath for Vice-Admiral Bertram Home Ramsay, Flag Officer commanding
Dover.
Companions of the Bath:-Rear- Admiral William Frederick Wake George Walker, Captain William Tennant and Captain Michael May. ward Denny.

as senior recognition of his services
naval officer at Aandalsnes during the landing and withdrawal of the Allied troops.
It is stated the awards are the first short list of those whose good ser- vice so far has come to notice. The men decorated have been se- lected from the only party of which detailed services have been reported. -Reuter,
U-BOAT SINKS SWEDISH STEAMER
London, To-day. Thirty-four survivors from the Swe- dish Erik Frisell (5,000 tons) sunk by a U-boat in the Atlantic, have been landed at a north Scottish port.

CONSCRIPTION IN EIRE POSSIBLE

The Defence Minister, Oscar Tray- nor, gave warning in the Senate yes- terday of the possible introduction in Eire of compulsory military service.
"If there is not a better response to the call for national service," he said, "we may have to consider national re- gistration and may have to go further than that."Reuter.
JUDGMENT FOR HONG KONG AND SHANGHAI HOTELS
Judgment with costs for the-de- fendants, the Hong Kong and Shang- hai Hotels, Ltd., was given yester- day by Sir Atholl MacGregor, at the conclusion of the case in which the Admiralty claimed £1,208. 4s. 7d. in
The survivors stated the U-boat commander gave them five minutes to get away in lifeboats. They were picked up later by a trawler and tow-respect of pension, passage home, pay ed to port.---Reuter.
POTENTIAL AID FOR ALLIES
Paris, To-day.
The Netherlands Legation in Paris reports that several units of the Netherlands Air Force have reached France.
The men are chiefly young pilots who are still in training who escaped in light machines, and made their way to France without any appreciable losses.
