ADMIRALTY ACTION AGAINST HOTEL
FURTHER EVIDENCE WAS HEARD at the Supreme Court. this morning in the case in which the Admiralty is claiming £1,208:4.7d. from the Hong Kong and Shang- hai Hotels Ltd., for damages arising out of a motor ac- cident on July 23, 1938, on the Fanling Road.
In reply to Mr. Potter, witness said he thought the tyre was no more: liable to skid than any other.

If a hirer were not satisfied with the driver, he could request another br engage a driver himself.
The hire included maintenance ser vice, and witness had told Comman- der Baines that he had to send the car to the garage for repairs and ad- Justments. This was done on several occasions. Tyres were not refused if needed for a car.
He could not agree that a smooth tyre was a dangerous tyre. He would think nothing of sending out a car on livery service with such tyres.
The case is proceeding.
