BISHOP URGES U.S. TO ENTER THE WAR

(SPECIAL TO “CHINA MAIL")

Richmond (Va.); To-day.

In an open letter addressed to the United States Baorstary of State, Bishop James-Cannon, of the Methodist Church In Rich-· mond, urged him to "make every use of his great Influence with the President and Congress to bring about a declaration of war against Hitler and other similar monsters."

Bishop Cannon added that all nations would be immensely' gra- tified if the United States would abrogate the "cowardly Neutral- ity Act" and declare war upon Gormany.

Despair, he said, would be re- placed by hope.--Havas.
