INTERESTING STRUGGLE The sixth race saw Mr. Ph record his second win of the day. SAPPER'S FINE WIN
and' in
A great race was seen in the fourth race, the Whitsun Handicap for Australian ponies of this season over the mile, which was the main attraction of the afternoon, which Far View (Mr. Pih), the champion pony during the Annual Meeting, met defeat for the second time at the hands of Sapper. By this win and the lowering of Strathroy's record by 1-4/5 seconds, Sapper must now be regarded as the best among the Austra- lan ponies.

A close match should result from the fixture between K. C. C. "A" and H.K.CC. on the former's courts.
It is interesting to note that the leading Cricket Club pair this year will be L. Goldman and Miss Ann Tylor,, both of whom played last season for U.S.R.C.
Other pairs are fairly good, being B. C. Fay and the steady Mrs. An- drews, and the Club mixed doubles tournament winners, T. A. Pearce and Miss J. Armstrong.
For K. C. C., Mrs. Burnett is still suffering from a bad hand and Guest and Miss Stokes are indisposed and will not be playing. E. F. Fincher is back in the team and G. C. Burnett and Miss Harker will complete it. As none of the three pairs selected have had much experience of each other's play, however, it is not expected that Kowloon will win.
