NAVAL PATROL OFF LOW COUNTRIES

London, To-day.

An Admiralty communique states: "Since the German invasion of Holland and Belgium strong naval forces have been operating continuously off the coast of these two countries in spite of repeated bombing attacks having been made on them.

Allied operations on land have been supported. Enemy troops land- ing from the air on aerodromes and beaches have been bombarded.

Refugees have been evacuated from the war area and brought to this country."--British Wireless.

He was Mr. Reginald Malcolm Bur- ge, of Brockwell Court, Brixton, S.W., and he cited his brother, Mr. Edward Burge.

He was granted a decree nisi, with costs, on the ground of the adultery of his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Hilda Burge...

Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Burge mar- ried in 1929. They lived in London hotels and in Paris.

The case for Mr. Burge was that his wife left him in 1937, and he al- leged that she and his brother after- wards committed adultery.

DEVILS MADE MOTHER KILL

A mother, said to be action under the belief that "demons were chasing her," beat three of her children to death with a hmamer in Los Angeles, U.S.A., and then died on a flaming mattress after setting her hair on fire.

The woman's fourth child, a girl of eleven, told the police that her mother beat her with a hammer after she had entered their home and found her brother and two sisters dying.

The child related how her mother ignited her hair and fell screaming on to the mattress, shouting: "Hit me, I can't stand the pain.”....... The girl, according to the police, said that she struck her mother with the hammer about twenty times until it broke and added. "I guess I must have hit her fifty times.”—Associated Press.
