FRENCH ARMY AT GRIPS IN LUXEMBURG

"

(SPECIAL TO CHINA MAIL ")

PARIS, TO-DAY.

THE ALLIES HAVE STRUCK WITH DRAMATIC SWIFTNESS AND ENERGY IN THEIR CHALLENGE TO THE GERMAN INVASION OF HOLLAND AND BELGIUM.

In Luxemburg, powerful French forces are already locked in violent fight- ing with several German divisions to the north of Sierck, on the main railway from Cologne and the Rhineland to France.

In Holland, hundreds of British fighters are chal- lenging the German bombing squadrons, and squadrons of Bristol Blenheims are co-operat- ing with the Dutch land forces in bombing the German lines of communications, and attack- ing the German concentrations struggling to manoeuvre in the Dutch border zones. The feeling in all the Allied countries is that the

situation is well under control.

Nowhere has the German blitz- krieg onslaught succeeded.
