SEA POWER STILL DOMINATING FACTOR
London, To-day.
THE FACT DISCLOSED by the Premier last week that the destruction of a considerable proportion of the Ger- man Fleet off the Norwegian Coast has enabled the Allies safely to revert to the normal distribution of Navies in the Mediterrahean is naturally an unpalat- able diet for German consumption.
It appears likely that it is their secret fear that sea power is still the dominating factor in war that inspires the present intense Nazi propaganda which continues to declare the British Fleet is suffering severe losses at the hands of the German Air Force.
According to an "official statement" published by Transocean, this proves that the "supremacy of a fleet, how- ever strong, can be broken in an age of aerial warfare wherever the far- reaching hand of this new weapon hits with
lightning strength and speed."
of the
Disinterested observers will wonder how this contention can be reconcil- ed with the reinforcement Allied Fleet in the Mediterranean, especially if that accretion of strength should be as great as that stated by the Transocean Athens correspondent Fleet con- who says: "The Allied centration at Alexandria comprises the Second French Squadron and several British units, including three battle- ships. Apart from the vessels already British light at Alexandria, seven
flotillas cruisers and four destroyer

The great free, port of Copen- hagen was the goal of a constant stream of lorries fetching and carrying away plunder.
The plunder to be found in the countryside is less rich now than it would have been only a short while ago.
Farmers had been killing off their stock following the reduction in the British quota of imports from Den- mark.
In any case, by seizing Denmark, Hitler has killed a goose that laid- golden eggs.
The stocks in Copenhagen were either In transit or imported goods. They will not be replenished. Further, Danish co-operative farm- ing is an extremely delicate mechan- ism which needs
a few months, it will be clear that Denmark is a dead loss to the in- vader.
It may be that the military com- manders on the spot, realise this.
IN COPENHAGEN After the first threat of terrorism they have in fact behaved fairly well. Their soldiers disappeared from the streets.
Outwardly, Copenhagen and, other centres were given back their nor- mal appearance. Arrests have been few and unsystematic.

Many a woman asks herself this question at those times when the bur- dens which are peculiar to her sex tax her endurance almost to the limits of her strength. At these periods she has to endure wearisome palns, weakness and headaches. Often she suffers from depressing aches in back and loins and

It was decided, at a private meeting of M.P.s last night, that Sir John An- derson should be asked to receive a deputation on the subject of activities by pro-Nazis in this country. About 70 members attended the meeting convened by Sir Waldron Smithers and presided over by Mr. W. P. Spens, K.C.
In view of recent revelations of the
"Fifth part that Hitler's
Column" played in the invasion of Norway, great concern is shown by M.P.s about Nazi agents and Nazi sympathisers in this country.
Sir John will be urged to exercise a stricter control over aliens and also over Communist, Fascist and Pacifist bodies who are opposed to the war.
'Questions on these subjects will also be asked in Parliament next week.
