ENTRIES
WHAT PROMISES to be a record season in the local lawn bowls world is a due to commence to-morrow week I may be wrong but I have formed when a full programme of 14 games is down for decision.
Twenty-eight teams have entered the League which, as was the case last year, will be played in three divisions. Ten teams will play in First and Second Divisions and eight teams in Third Division, a total of no less than 336 players each Saturday.
thing to do with this state of affairs but there certainly does not seem to have been nearly as many friendly matches as we usually have in the three or four weeks preceding the beginning of the League programme.
There is consequently little to guide
-one as to the composition of the vari- ous teams, Comment on these will therefore be left until next week and I will content myself with a few re- marks on the lists of players which I
have been able to see.
CHAMPIONS LUCKY
It is interesting to note the progress which our game Whereas in 1932 only has made in the past few seasons. 16 teams played in the League, which was divide into two sections, in 1936 there were 20 teams, which increased the following year to 24.
