GERMAN TROOPS IN THE TRONDHEIM REGION ARE MAKING HASTY PRE-
WEGIAN FORCES, ACCORDING TO A TELEPHONED MESSAGE FROM NORDLI.
The message says that, reports that British units landed at Namsos, 80 miles north of Trondheim, caused great optimism throughout central Norway.

H.K. BOY FOLLOWS IN BROTHER'S FOOTSTEPS
The much-coveted Peace Memorial Scholarship has been won this year by à Hong Kong boy, William Pryde, son of Mr. Walter Pryde, of the P.W.D.
Pryde's success, which was notified in a telegram received in the Colony from Shanghai this morning, was all the more notable in that the Scholar- ship, previously awarded to two boys in China and Hong Kong, is now only awarded to one boy, whose parents must have been resident in China or Hong Kong for three years.

The Scholarship, which is worth £1,350, allows the winner his own choice of a university at which to study for four years.
Walter Pryde, elder brother of William, is a previous winner of the -Scholarship, and is now in his third
year at Cambridge.
British planes are reported to have destroyed five German aircraft in
raids on the airfields at Stjordal and
Varnes, near Trondheim.
It is also stated that seven Ger-
man planes were destroyed and a
direct hit scored on a petrol dump
during Tuesday's raid on Trond- helm.
ADVANCE ON NARVIK
In the North, another, British force is reported to be advancing on Nar- vik, part of which still appears to be in German. hands.
An observer - who accompanied a Norweglan detachment which was forced over the Swedish frontier stated that a large body of British troops, Including Canadian aki parties, landed at a Fjord north o. Narvik, from which there are good communications southwards. The British had artillery, which the Germans in Narvik are known to lack. Reuter.
