GAVALRY TANKS EXERCISE-The mobility of the modern light tank is well illustrated in this plcture of cavalry tanka carrying out an exercise "somewhere in France." They are able to operate over the rough- est of country and extricate themselves in an amazing manner from all sorts of seemingly impossible post- tions. (Air Mall).

GERMAN AIRMEN'S SLANG
The German Airman also has his slang-some of it quite incomprehensible even to the most orthodox Nazi layman, and ́ some of it so [cynical that it must cause the authorities a little an- xiety.
The term "flying brick" to describe મ Messerschmitt is already well known.
Here are some other terms used to describe aircraft. Bath tub (Bade- wanne), canoe (Kahn), trunk (Kiste) or Molle, which is the name given to a large size glass in the cafes of Ber- lin.
An all metal aircraft is a "brass donkey" (Blechesel) a heavy bomber is a "pantechnicon" (Mobelwagon), a singe-seater fighter is called a "dolly" (Puppchen) and a worn out aircraft is called "Klamotte" ie.” “junk.”
"PEACEFUL EMILS"
The general name for pilots is Emil, and for observers Franz. An observer is also a "staff-goggles" (Generalstab brille), A young airman is a "hare" (Haschen), an "ace" pilot is a "cannon" (Kanone). An old pilot is called Fridensemil (literally "peaceful Emil”) and a crew is called a Fliegerehe, meaning more or less a flying family.
Bombs are "eggs" or "cigars" (Eier or Zigarren). To open fire with a ma- chine gun is "to bleat" (Anmechern).
A flight over the enemy lines is a Frontbummel (Bummel means à joy- ride or a "spree") Searchlights are "glow worms," A.A. fire is "measles"
in.. (Masern), and to be shot down frames is "dismount hot" (Abmon-
tieren. warm)..
As to the weather forecasters of the Reich meteorological service, cynicism could not go further. They are simply false prophets (Falsche called the Propheten.)
FALL OF A LADDER Two painters were yesterday ad- mitted to the Kowloon Hospital, one with a fractured hand and the other with a fractured spine. They were at work in a godown at Dundas Street yesterday, and fell from a ladder while for painting.
The youths offered a radio-set for sale to a shop in Woosung Street on April 2 and were arrested.
The fingerprints proved to be Cheng Cheng had three convictions loitering and larceny, while Oliviera had a clean record.
