New York, To-day. Joe Louis is an 8-1 favourite to retain his world heavyweight title against Johnny Paychek, "the Pride of America's cornbelt" at Madison Square Garden to-night.

Paychek, who has had 33 succes- sive victories, has an effective left jab, but layers are offering 3-1 his being unable to leave the ring-

under his own power.

Later. Odds on Louis are now 10/3 and 10/1. It is considered evens against Paychek surviving three rounds; 2/1 against him lasting five rounds and 4/1 against 10 rounds.

Louis weighed in at 14 stone, lb. and Paychek at 13 stone, 5 lb..

Promoter Mike Jacobs is giving the Finnish Relief Fund all his profits, Louis is giving 7 per cent. of his purse and Paychek 24 per cent. Reuter.
