M. REYNAUD'S EFFORTS TO FORM CABINET

PARIS, TO-DAY. PRESIDENT ALBERT LEBRUN. AFTER RECEIVING PREMIER M. DALADIER'S RESIGNATION, ASK- ED HIM TO FORM A NEW CABINET BUT M. DALADIER REFUSED, ARGUING “PARLIAMEN- TARY TRADITION.”
President Lebrun then called M. Paul Reynaud, Finance Minister in the Daladier Cabinet, and offered him the task of forming a new government. M. Reynaud re- served a definite answer but started consultations immediately, receiving the Colonies Minister, M. Georges Mandel, with whom he conferred till late last night.
Upon leaving the Elysee Palace late at night, M. Daladier told the press he would shortly issue a communi- que on the Cabinet's resignation:
