kicks.
Lavalle, with his wrist in plaster of Paris, gave an extremely plucky dis- play for Club, saving two certain tries when he grassed first Taylor and then Morgan, but his kicking was weak, being ill-directed and lacking power. He concluded the game in agony fol- lowing a nice run down the wing and a heavy tackle by Fowler: Taylor used his weight to advantage and re- vealed a surprising turn of speed. Charter's defence was impregnable, Fowler gave a most promising display and Morgan was always dangerous.

ner, but Hutchison, levelled the scores with a great try between the posts which Castleton converted. Police should have scored early in the second half when Rutherford' sent out a wild pass and Searle nearly went over after Matthews had held up a fierce for- ward rush by going down on the ball almost at Rose's feet. Searle managed to pass but Wheeler knocked on with the line at his mercy. With Talkoo failing to last the pace Leslie cut through the centre and scored between the posts: Reynolds's kick at goal was disallowed, as the ball was grounded too soon.
{
Matthews, out for the first time this season, gave a sound display at full- back for Taikoo, but would have help- ed more had he aided the attack, and Hutchison was always dangerous in the first half. Macrae did well at for- ward in the first half but was also winded thereafter. The Police for- wards played 'well and Reynolds had to be watched very carefully.

BANK'S FINE BACKS Hong Kong Bank made short work of "Tamar" and Small Ships “B”, leading 8-0 at half time and winning 19-0 as the result of tries by Day, con- verted by Aitkenhead, and Aitkenhead in the first half and Day, Aitkenhead, who converted his own effort, Kennedy.
and
Navy fielded a scrappy side and Kennedy, and Bowden, who would strengthen their first team, were the only ones to impress, but their's was a thankless job without support.
Bank have an excellent back divi- sion and are likely to extend Club. "A" to the fullest extent if they meet in the semi-final. Day showed a clean pair of heels every time he got the ball, except once, when Ken- nedy came across to cut him off and grass him.

Lt Pirie of Royal Scots and Dr. J. A. R. Selby refereed during the afternoon.
After yesterday's games. I still think the semi-finalists will be Police "A", 8th Heavy Regt. "A", Bank and Club "A", with Police "A" and Club “A” in the Final.

Cheerfulness
comes from Strong Nerves
and Restorative Sleep
The two essentials for maintaining a cheerful and con- fident outlook on life art strong nerves and restorative sleep. To ensure these, there is definitely nothing like “Ovaltine."
The pre-eminence of 'Ovaltine' for strengthening the nervous-system-and-giving restorative sleep has been amply demonstrated by independent scientific tests. It would be impossible to claim superiority over 'Ovaltine' in any respect whatever.
The nature and quality of the ingredients and the pro- portions used are of the utmost importance in determining the value of a food beverage. The ingredients of 'Ovaltino' conform to the supremely high standard of quality set by the famous 'Ovaltine' Farms.
Remember that ‘Ovaltine' is a complete food containing the essential vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and mineral salts in correct proportions. For sleep, for nerves, for fit- ness 'Ovaltine' definitely stands in a class by itself. Although imitations are made to look the same, there are very impor- tant differences.
'Ovaltine' does not contain any Household Sugar. Furthermore, it does not contain Starch. Nor does it contain a large percentage of Cocoa.
If sugar is required for sweetening, you can always add
it to 'Ovaltine' yourself. This is obviously the most satis- factory and economical way, Because of its supreme quality and concentrated goodness ‘Ovaltine' is most economical in use. For all these reasons make ‘Ovaltine' your `constant stand-by.
