All the visiting Jockeys have return-race at the Annual Meeting, the result ed North, thus once again leaving the will probably be fought out between local jockeys to themselves.

won.

The programme opens with a race for Novice Jockeys, who will be given mounts on China ponies, Subscription griffins of any season that have started at a race meeting of this Club since February 16 and have not Among the ponies entered, I don't think we need look further than

Golden Cow (Mr. Chiu Ki Fán). Portrush (Mr. K. W. Fung). Rose Evelyn (Mr. G. Treverton). Wilber (Mr. Ho Hong-ping) to provide the winner.

In the Governor's Cup, over a mile,

on the fourth day of the Annual Meet-

ing, Rose Evelyn ran second to King Kong, and as to-morrow's event will only be á sprint affair I think Rose Evelyn, which is noted for its speed, should win unless Mr. Treverton ex- periences difficulty in getting it away from the gate. It must be remember- ed that Rose Evelyn is not too easy a.

pony to handle, especially at the start- ing barrier.

There is, of course, Portrush to be considered, and it will be racing under

the colours of Dr. Lee Shiu Kee for the first time. This pony came third to Bressay in the Taiping Handicap (second section) on the last day of the Annual Meeting and, as it is also a sprinter, I expect to see it fairly near at the finish. Golden Cow and Wilber are also fast over short distances, and they are both capable of upsetting cal-

culations.

Jober, with Mr. Chao up, should also be in the running if it is allowed to take a big lead, as the pony is quite "capable of lasting out the distance.

RACE NO. 4.—HONG KONG HANDICAP (FIRST SECTION): 14 MILES.

In this race for China ponies that have started at a Race Meeting of this Club since February 16 and have not won, I believe Galaxy (Mr. Chao), in view of its second placing behind Bear Claw in the Ichang Handicap (First Section) should win in spite of a penalty of 6 lbs, which it is quite capable of handling. Red Feather (Mr. Wel), which was third, half a length behind, in the same race, is up by 1 lb. and as the distance is slightly longer it may reverse its last defeat.

Rob Roy (Mr. Encarnacao) is also in the race as the pony is very lightly treated, and for that reason it should not be disregarded. Avon (Mr. D. (Mr. W. G. Black) and Rose Emily Poy) have been given 140 lbs. to carry, and either one of them could cause an upset.

Galveston Bay (Mr. Hearne) cannot expect to do better than fill third place, and for those who are on the lookout for an outsider I suggest Commencement Bay (Mr. Liang), which is very fit at the moment.

RACE NO. 2-LOITERERS STAKES: SIX FURLONGS Twenty-three non-winning griffins of this season have entered for this event and, judging from performances during the Annual Meeting, I shall not be far wrong in stating that the finish will be fought out between Dupont Bay (Mr. D.
