Two Dutch freighters, the Lim- burg and Achtelatd, were chine-gunned by German planes In the North Sea this morning both sustaining heavy damage.

IT IS NOW LEARNED THAT the Dutch ship Janger Wilhelm, which picked up survivors of the B.I. s.s. Domala, was herself attacked by a Nazi 'plane half an hour earlier presumably by the
same one.
As in the case of the Domala, the 'plane was seen in the half-darkness, flying low overhead with navigation lights full on. The Dutch ship simi- larly took the Helsinki bomber for a British 'plane, but discovered its mistake when a bomb was dropped only 20 feet away.
The 'plane then dived repeatedly, sweeping the decks with its machine- guns. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Four other Dutch ships have been attacked in the North Sea. In addi- tion to the 2,249-ton Schieland, and the two smaller boats, they included a Dutch coastal vessel, which was bombed.
The captain and engineer were killed and three survivora have landed at a British port after be ing afloat on a raft for 36 hours. Survivors of the Swedish ship

STRANGE RUMOURING

These reports from Eastern Europe state that two German Divisions are now in southern Russia on their way to the Caucasus.

"ELZIENA"-TRAGEDY

· Three survivors of the crew of five of the small Dutch coastal: vessel, Elzierta, which was a victim of an attack by a German bomber, were landed at a north-east coast port to- day, after 36 hours at sea on a raft.
The master and engineer were killed as a result of the bombing, and two of the survivors were injured.
The "Elziena" indicated her na- tionality by large flags, painted on the sides. Reuter.

Amsterdam, To-day. The Dutch steamer Rijnstroom, 695 tons, which left. The Downs Sunday for Amsterdam has failed to arrive and it is regarded as certain that she has been sunk.
Lifeboats, lifebelts and a quantity. of merchandise believed to belong to her have been found floating. It is hoped that her crew of twelve escaped. in the ship's other boat-Reuter.
