For fifteen years the Hong YWCA has carried on work among factory women and last year opened two industrial hostels-one at Cause- way Bay and one at Wan Tsal.

The growing importance of Kow- loon City as an industrial district has drawn thousands of women work- ers to that area; living conditions are crowded and expensive., This YWCA hostel will give a bed for $1.20 month; and by working cooperatively the girls can provide themselves with meals at $3.50 a month: so that for less than $5.00 a month the girls can find food and lodging in a YWCA hostel.

A representative of the industrial clubs of these centres, Miss Tse Wai- Hing, president of the Intorclub Council of YWCA Industrial Clubs, expressed the thanks' of the indus- trial girls to all who participated on this opening ceremony.

At the moment, only a 2-storey building is contem- plated, owing to a lack of funds; in- dustrial workers, therefore, cannot be accommodated.
