the "Aftenbladet“ a U-boat blew up and sank apparently as the result of action by a British des- troyer before the submarine could fire a torpedo with which she intended to sink a Norwegian vessel.

The crew of the Norwegian ship, and 33 survivors of the Norwegian motor-vessel Snestad, which they had rescued, had already taken to the boats; but when the submarine sank they returned on board and brought the ship safely to Bergen yesterday.

The Snestad, of 4,114 tons, bound for America and was torpedoed on Sunday after

A Havas message which points out that the sinking of this U-boat makes the fth Nazi submarine loss in a single week, says that the destruction has not been officially claimed yet by the British Admiralty.
