LONDON, TO-DAY,

DURING THE FIRST 11 WEEKS OF THE NATIONAL SAVINGS CAM- PAIGN OVER £80,000,000 HAS BEEN RAISED, WHICH IS NEARLY FOUR TIMES THE ANTICIPATED RATE.

When the voluntary campaign-was launched with the creation of the new Savings Certificate and the new De- fence Bond it was expected to raise about £100,000,000 in twelve months.

Since the war began 10,000 new savings groups have been formed, bringing the total to more than 50,000. About 75% of these are in offices and factories and new groups are being

formed at the rate of 250 daily.

If the groups do their work properly they should ensure that an even larger current savings will be
