Scotland Yard is doing its best to stem the flow of glamour-mad girls to shady night resorts in the West End. These girls, many of them under seventeen, come from all parts of the and country, girls with pretty faces dancing feet, who think they have only to come to London to make their dreams of lovely clothes, limousines, and Prince Charmings come true.
They are girls of all types school- girls, shopgirls, typists and factory workers-and nearly all of them are ‣ film-crazy.
Arriving in London, their first um- bition is to crash the stage or screen. When they find they can't they drift as dance hostesses Into night clubs and drinking dens, where they have a chance to show what they can do In cheap cabarets, "and where the big talent-spotter may yet discover them.
