SWAN WAS FIRST CASUALTY

First-aid workers at the

A.R.P. depot in Daws-lane, Mill Hill, had a swan for their first casualty, and they have dealt with it satisfac- torily.

The swan fell exhausted and in- jured in the road near the depot, after crushing into telegraph wires while in flight.

A party of first-aid workers went out and brought it into the depot, where they applied suitable treatment, including a dose of brandy. The bird is now making satisfactory progress as an in-patient.
