VICTORY THIRD RUSSIAN DIVISION IS ELIMINATED
Helsinki, To-day. ANOTHER SMASHING victory near Suomussalmi is claimed in a special war communique issued yesterday afternoon. The entire 44th Division, of over 15,000 men, has been "put out of action.”
This is the third Soviet division to be eliminated, the 163rd having been wiped out a few days ago. Over 1,000 prisoners were taken, as well as a large quantity of war material — including 102 guns, 43 tanks, hundreds of armoured cars, lorries and field kitchens and 1,000 horses. NORTH
