SOVIET FORCES SURROUNDED IN AGLAJAERVI BATTLE: FINN ADVANCE CONTINUES

THE BATTLE OF AGLAJAERVI ended in defeat for
the enemy, part of whose forces were surround- RELEASES ed, states an official communique issued in SWEDISH

The Aglajaervi area, it is claimed, is now wholly in Finnish hands, and the advance continues.

In the battle of Tolvajnervi and Aglajnervi the Finns took over 600 prisoners, and the enemy lost 2,000 dead.
In the Salla sector the advance con- tinues.
AIR ACTIVITY
Another communique says that on the Karelian front, the Finnish troops, after carrying. out several patrol operations on an extended front, ra- turned to their positions.
On the Aglajaervi front the ad- vance continues.

The Finnish air force engaged and drove off enemy planes the day.
