Brussels, Dec. 10. Belgian peasants toiling in their fields at Esplechin to- day heard the noise of a plane and saw a British fight- er in difficulties.
As they watched, it made a bumpy landing, tearing away fences before It stopped. The peasants rushed to the machine. A young pilot clam-
bered out.
"Where am I," he asked. "In Belgium," he was told.
"Oh, am I far from the French frontier?""
“No, just 200 yards," said a peasant, pointing to a frontier post.
