GERMAN NERVOUS
EXCITABILITY
London, To-day.
OBSERVERS IN LONDON claim to discern an increasing decree of nervous excitability which appears to have affected the German official mind during the last few days in relation to the war in the air.
It is pointed out that on Monday the German agencies des- cribed in great detail an air battle over Sylt which never took place.
This, it is thought, was done for the purpose of helping bolster up the fantastic figures of aircraft said to be engaged and brought down in ac- tion over the Heligoland Bight.
Yesterday this feat of imagination was surpassed by an even more re- markable series of inventions.
Sylt was again the arena chosen. Details were given of the length of time taken by the operations.

ATTACKS INVENTED But, not content with this, German agencies went much further and actually invented an attack on the towns of Hoernum and Rantum. An official denial of this was issued by the Air Ministry.
Not only is the German account devoid of truth in every detall but the statements themselves provide material for their own refutation.

Fisher played good all-round bad- minton featured by a canny short game and decisive smashing, while Wynter-Blyth was at his best when driving or smashing. He was inclin- ed to weakness when attempting clear- ing shots on the backhand, however, and his service was not very effec- tive.
LEE SHINES
For the home team F. S. Ko was his usual canny self, although making more mistakes than usual, but Ri- chard Lee was easily the finest play- er of the evening with a splendid all- court game.
Special mention must also be made of the showing of J. L. Sta. phens, who played his first League game of the season.
His short game was particularly good and, as he is possessed of a good reach and powerful wrists, should de- velop into a useful League player
with more experience.

XMAS IN HIS
MOUNTAIN EYRIE
Berlin, To-day. Herr Hitler left Berlin yesterday, to spend Christmas at Berchtesgaden. It is not known whether he means to keep up his usual custom of cele- brating Christmas Eve with . mem- bers of the Nazi Party in a beer cel- lar in Munich.--Reuter.
