THE B.E.F.

London, To-day.

MR. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN paid a high tribute to the British Expeditionary Force in France in the course of a broadcast last evening.

The Prime Minister said, inter alia: "I have been impressed by everything I have seen of the troops and the air com- ponents.

"When I consider the shortness of time the force has been in France, conditions of weather and other dif- Aculties, I am simply amazed at the progress made.

"I must congratulate the Comman- der-in-Chief upon the way that his been preparations for defence have

upon the obvious progressing and smartness and efficiency of the troops in his command.

"1 have been delighted to hear of the excellent relations existing be tween the B.E.F. and the French in- habitants."
