LAST NIGHT'S CHARITY DANCE

One of the most successful charity dances of the year was held at Peninsula Hotel last night by the Hong Kong Chinese Women's Club.

An excellent cabaret programme was presented by members of the Club in the course of the evening.

At the entrance to the ballrooms was a stall exhibiting samples of the products of the Fanling Agricultural Experimental Farm in charge of Mr. Percy Chen, Chairman of the Shumchun Rural Welfare Centre.

This (says a Reuter message) was officially announced in London last evening.

Sir Robert's public-spirited offer has been gratefully accepted by the British Government, on whose behalf a personal letter of thanks has been addressed by the Chancellor of the Ex- chequer, Sir John Simon, to the Sir Robert.
