BOWLING ALLEY JOTTINGS
By "STRIKE":
Again "how are the mighty fallen;" on Tuesday, R. A. Duddridge, one of the best Ten Pin players in the Alleys, was beaten by S. A. Ismail rather badly.
It was in the first round of the Singles Handicap Competition, Ismall was plus 25 and Duddridge plus 0, and actually Ismail was receiving 16 pins per game. He won very comfortably by 135 plas, including his handicap, which means that had both play- ers started off level Ismail would have won by 87 pins.
The individual scores were:-
Racaived
S. A. Ismail..... 162 174 173 48 557 R. H. Duddridge.. 142 146 134 422 Ismall well deserved his convincing win. He played consistently in all three games

and on that form will cause some upsets in the competition.
Duddridge played very poorly and was ob- viously out of practice. His highest score for the match against Ismail was 146, this is much below his usual standard.
Also on Tuesday there was a very good exhibition of Duck Pins, between our old friends, the U.S.S. "Tulsa" and U.S.S. **Mindanao". It was a five-game match and the "Tulsa" won by 86 pins, the total scores being U.S.S. Tulsa 1943 and U.S.S. Mindanao 1857.
Although Mindanao lost, I was.agreeably surprised at their great effort. The Min- danao boys concentrate more on Ten Pins as a rule and the number of over-100's snatched in this match was the highest I have ever seen in a similar match, the "Tulsa" boys registering no less than seven, and the Mindanao four.
The two stars of the match were J. A. Vasko of the "Tulsa," with 551 to his credit, and D. M. Keplinger with, 508.
Duck Pin bowling fans will be interested to note the individual averages of the eight players, as follows:-

This, it must be agreed, is real good how- ling and judging by the vociferous efforts A. Pts.and friendly bandinage from the many keen 3 2 3 23
supporters of both teams who were present, they thoroughly enjoyed the good fare pro- vided for them.

Duck Pin enthusiasts will no doubt be 'in- terested to learn that the third of the series of matches between the Alley team and U.S.5. Tulsa will be played off this evening at 7.30. The standing at present is one-all and this deciding match should be a very Interesting and close one,

The Champs met the Tulea in a friendly game on Wednesday and suffered their big- gest defeat at the hands of their old opnon- ents. Strange though it may sound they were beaten by the same combination that beat them on Julv 6, viz. Peterson, Schroler, Spenko, and Michals,
