The Slam was a laydown in clubs, since Declarer made three spade tricks, the Ace and King of diamonds, one heart trick, his own five clubs and ruffed one heart in dummy for twelve tricks. At notrump, however, against perfect defence the best that could be made would be eleven tricks.
