FOUR NAZI AIRMEN TAKEN PRISONER BY BRITISH

(SPECIAL WAR SERVICE)

London, To-day. DETAILS NOW AVAILABLE of the shooting down on Thursday of two German reconnaissance planes show that four Germans were taken pri- soner of whom two were wounded and two un- hurt. With a third machine, the German planes crossed into French territory adjacent to the British zone and instantly British and French Anti-Aircraft batteries opened fire and British fighters which were waiting for just such an opportunity, dash- ed in pursuit.

H.K.N.V.F. PROMOTION

The following official appointments are gazetted:-

Dr. A. V. Greaves has resumed the duties of Government Bacteriologist.

Messrs. J. E. Harvey, A. S. Lewis and A. Pollock to be Acting Lieutenants in the H.K.N.V.F.

The combined fire of the A.A. bar- rage and the British planes brought

Meanwhile a British flight-lieu- tenant, leading the Royal Air Force machines ordered two ma chines to chase one enemy while he himself pursued the other.

He hunted his quarry from a height of 20,000 feet until, after three bursts from his guns, the German plunged into a terrific nose-dive following tenacious chase over a distance of 100 miles.-Reuter.
