AIR LEAFLETS GO UNDERGROUND

Through secret underground workers' movements, cop- ies of the millions of leaflets with which Germany has been bombarded by British airmen are being duplicated inside Germany and distributed throughout the Reich.

The German Freedom Movement, which numbers thousands of Ger- man workers, artisans and intellec- tuals, and has members in the Army and even in the Nazi Party, is await- ing the moment to strike.

This is the Democracies' Fifth Column-far more powerful than even the notorious fifth column of the Fascists.

Exiled members of the movement throughout the world, are now being mobilised for direct action in Co- operation with the Allies.

TEN RADIO STATIONS Among the leaders are Heinrich Mann, one-time president of the Ger- man Writers' Academy, Leon Feucht- wanger one of Germany's leading novelists, and Thomas Mann, probably the most famous of Germany's living authors.

From them will go out a flood of propaganda for smuggling Into Germany. Heinrich Mann, now in France, said touch "Our Committee is in constant with forces inside the country.

"Despite the Gestapo, we are able to give information and encourage- ment to the underground movement."

Contact with and between the sec- tions of the movement inside Ger- many is maintained through a system of chain letters.

CAREFREE COOKING

Cooking is so simple with a modern gas cooker. Once the little regulating dial at the side of the oven is set at the right temperature, the cooker takes charge. You can rest or attend to other jobs, knowing that the dishes in the oven will be done to

a turn when the time comes to dish them up. This dial keeps the oven at any desired tempera- ture automatically for as long. as you wish. Almost like having an extra servant in the kitchen!
